照れ屋の語　短冊でさえ　口ごもる
Words of a shy person / even on tanzaku / hesitate to say

季のなかで　人間だけが　片道で
Among all seasons / only human is / one-way

思えども　後ろ姿は　花霞
Though you're in my heart / your back / vaguely in hanakasumi

鳥居湧く　天の浮橋　地の端で
A torii springs out / where Ame-no-ukihashi / ends

浮き橋で　神主でさえ　下駄濡れる
On pontoon bridge / even the shoes of priest / get wet

行人に　近道遠道　正誤なし
For wayfarer / shortcut or long way / neither right nor wrong

春の気は　富士の上でも　止まらない
Ki of spring / with first snow of winter / doesn't stop

青い田に　足踏みいれるも　跡はなし
On the green rice field / step into it / still no footprint

酒林　枡を忘れた　樽待つか
Sakabayashi / I forgot my cup / will the barrel wait?

餞は　始発の前に　送るべし
Farewell gift / before the first departure of day / should be sent
