Baykan Sezer envisions a world free of exploitation, where all humanity lives in freedom, equality, and fraternity. This is a vision of the future. The West, having achieved global dominance, set out to unite all societies under a single system and ideal, but, under the pressure of its historical codes, it failed to achieve this without exploitation. The slogans of the French Revolution failed during the same period, and its flag fell to the ground. Today, it is impossible for the West to offer a new proposal that will encompass all of humanity. This has also been proven impossible. At this point, it seems more likely that the solution will come from outside the West, from the Eastern peoples who have suffered most from exploitation. This is where Baykan Sezer's thought gains significance. His interest in the Ottoman Empire and his continued focus on this issue throughout his career stem from his efforts to find the historical basis for the possibility of an Eastern solution. The "construction of the future" we have mentioned constitutes the fundamental motivation of his sociological thought.
